How my journey began

Tiffany Harvey, LPC, NCC, CCMHC encourages growth, the ability to laugh in a therapy session, and that therapy doesn’t always have to be painful! Tiffany is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a member of many professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, the National Board for Certified Counselors, Chi Sigma Iota, the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, and loves working with anxiety and trauma disorders the most.

In the past, Tiffany has worked with people struggling with serious mental health issues and substance abuse problems, as part of a multi-disciplinary team aimed at helping children who had been severely abused, as emergency crisis response, has supervised counselor residents for licensure, and as a trauma therapist in private practice.  These days works with motivated adults, typically exhausted and overstressed healthcare workers, college and medical students, and people with very painful pasts, who want a chance to have a safe place to process old wounds and have bright futures. Tiffany believes in a partnership approach in therapy and welcomes everyone to explore healing in a warm, nonjudgmental atmosphere.  She also really likes to talk about the brain and will try to sneak that in there any chance she gets

In her free time, Tiffany creates textile arts, reads books, watches documentaries on anything, volunteers at local art-encouraging facilities, and plays with her twin black cats.

Taking the first step is the hardest part. In the beginning, all you have to do is show up.

Have you been thinking about trying therapy but afraid to schedule? Have you been to therapy in the past and had a not-so-great experience and it’s hard to trust again? If you would like the chance to see if we might be a good fit and maybe even talk about why coming into therapy is hard, try a session and see what you think.
